Fun art history of masterpieces and sketch
Every week we will look at some masterpieces from the amazing collection of the British empire. I will go through the art history and fun facts as well as analysis of the masterpiece from an artist's point of view to study in depth the composition, structure, content, colours and mark making. We do some sketches and homework!
Week 6 Composition and photography
We went to the London Photography gallery in soho and looked at the famous images of Helen Levitt. We studied in depth how she cut the compositions to create depth, relationships, balance and what visual elements enhanced her images. We walked around soho to take images ourselves accordingly with a refreshed pair of eyes.
Week 7 Tate Britain Turner and Blake
We looked at the national treasure of Turner and Blake after briefly stopping by Rothko. Studied in depth the shipwreck and other compositions, studied Blake's life story with supernatural power and the amazing spiritual images. We also looked at the fairy room and the fun story of Shakespear's Midsummer night's dream.
